River Day Art Call

We're looking for CLEVELAND or CUYAHOGA COUNTY ARTISTS (only) to help us create magnificent new river mile signs for the Cuyahoga River ship channel. That's the Flats and the industrial part of the river from Lake Erie to ArcelorMittal. With more people - paddlers, kayakers, canoeists, paddleboarders, jetskiers - using the river, we want people to know just where they are on the water. And we want to bring a little culture to the steel walls that line the banks.

A jury of artists and river organization people will choose  as many as six pieces of art and produce the signs, which will be displayed at a media event on River Day, May 20, 2017. The winning artists will be invited to participate. The signs will be installed along the riverbanks later that month.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the artists whose work is chosen for the signs.

You're invited to submit a piece of art that is 26.5" high and 28 inches wide, that will go as the background for the sign. There will be the letters "RM" and a number from 1 to 6 on top of your art, but not so big as to cover your creation. You can see an example and layout formats at crookedriverday.org/call-to-artists.html.

TO SUBMIT YOUR ARTWORK, choose "Register" and carry on!
